Studio Hours
Pottery on the Common offers Studio hours to any adult potter who is in a CURRENT series class.
Studio Hours take place on Saturdays and Sundays most weekends. Due to special events, workshops, and holidays we cannot guarantee that all weekends will be available for Studio Hours. You can find the schedule for the next 4 available Open Weekends here:
May Hours:
Saturday May 4th: 9am - 1pm*
This class is for finishing/glazing. Students should not start new pieces
Saturday May 11th: 11am - 4pm
Sunday May 12th: 11am - 4pm
Saturday May 18th: 11am - 4pm
Sunday May 19th: 11am - 4pm
Instruction is not provided during Studio Hours.
As a Studio Member you can use the Studio as you please during available Studio hour weekends. Members must be able to work independently, are provided with storage space for works-in-progress, and have access to our studio tools and studio glazes.
Studio Hour Privileges:
· FREE membership is a benefit offered to current enrollees of our Adult Series Classes.
o FREE Studio Membership expires at the end of the current enrolled series and can be used for available Studio hour Weekends between the first and last class of the series.
· Glazes.
· Designated shelves for firing and a slip-based system glazing.
*Due to staffing shortages and holidays, we cannot guarantee that your 4 weekends will be contiguous. Please check the Studio Hours schedule published on our website to determine your end weekend.
Studio Hours Rules:
Every Studio Member must abide by our Studio Member Contract. As you know, cleanliness is paramount in ceramics studios as excessive clay dust poses a health hazard. The Contract is meant to:
· Ensure cleanliness and safety
· Protect valuable equipment and tools
· Effectively track the many pieces of work in various stages throughout the studio
· Efficiently manage limited studio space
· Guarantee that the next member to use the tools and workspaces finds them in clean and working order, ready to use.
